Find a “Bad” or “Challenging” interface

I couldn’t think of a truly disappointing website until I received a “reminder of unpaid toll” paperwork in the mail from Fastrak. To get started, fastrak isn’t allowing people to pay in person at tolls currently for Covid restrictions, so they are sending out reminders to pay the toll with a link to their website and a full invoice with instruction on how to pay the fee.

When you get to the website there are, what you have pointed out in the past, too many buttons going to the same thing.

In this case, I followed the button to pay my tolls.

On the “Ways to Pay” page, there are a lot of repeating buttons as well. How many times on one page can you put a button to pay for a violation/toll/payment? My issue is that I had gone ahead and paid this the day I got home but I selected Make a One-time Payment, which apparently isn’t an actual solid way to pay. After I made the payment, I got an email confirmation:

As you can see, I got the confirmation of payment and I thought I was done…but I got a letter in the mail last week telling me I need to pay my toll violation still…so here I am again on the website. So this time I selected the “violation”button. I then go through the process again where I enter the now “violation” number, all of my information including payment and hit send. There it is again, hello old friend, the “Violation payment confirmed” message.

This is my last attempt and for an example of how many times I have tried to pay without success, here is my email box:

I only had two tolls to pay and this is the amount of “confirmation” emails I have received over the span of several months of me trying to pay this dang toll!!! I have tried to get ahold of someone through the phone and email and nothing is sticking. I’m just waiting to hear when the issue will be sent to small claims or attach this to my credit somehow, seriously!?
